Her parents lived in Karachi, but she spent most of her childhood in Gujranwala with her grandmother. Qamar first appeared in the television series Main Aurat Hoon. She won the PTv award for the best TV actress in both public and jury choice categories in the 16th Annual PTV awards on 23 July 2011.She is filming the serial main monto directed by Sarmad khan and an untitled drama serial directed by Amina Khan oppositeMika zulqarnian for Mastermind Productions. In November 2013, Qamar was offered to perform a role in a Bollywood movie, but she refused and did not go to Bollywood.
