How to Look Like a Cute Emo Girl
Before we start, emo does not mean you are depressed, or that you hate yourself and your life. Emo is about expressing yourself through music and poetry. It can also mean that you are an emotional person and might be more sensitive or "hidden" so to speak. It's also about always being yourself, and showing who you are in everything you do.
We will start with the hair.

Emo hair is usually stick straight, and flat.
 Curly hair can be emo too, but straight hair is the most common. If you have curly hair but want it straight,get it chemically straightened. Its very hard on your hair, but its better that flat-ironing, and it lasts until your hair grows out.Get lots of choppy layers put in it, and a side-part, so your bangs cover one eye, or both(emo guys find the bangs very hot and they give you a very mysterious look!). Those are the two most important elements of the hair!
Emo hair is not always black, but it's recommended. 

If your hair is not black, colorful highlights are great but if your hair is at least two different colors,it is ok. Even if its just a streak of color, it could make or break your look! Streaks of color are becoming more popular. Don't go too overboard with the color, that's scene, not emo. If dying your hair bright colors is not an option, black hair with platinum blonde streaks looks great too. Another option is black hair with bleached ends.
For the lips, slap on some clear gloss.
 It makes your lips look shiny and healthy. Remember, the gloss should not add any color .
Now eyeliner is ok:

...Black is preferable, but dark brown or grey will work in a pinch. THICK lines above and below the eye! For an adorable, almost cat-like effect, draw out from the outer corner of the eye and make a point. Honestly, it doesn't really matter what you do as long as you use some eyeliner.
For the finishing touch,
 put on some nail polish. Black nail polish says emo, but pink, green, or anything super bright really speaks emo.
Time to go shopping!
Skinny jeans are an absolute must but Skinny and tight does not mean too small, uncomfortable, or don't fit. Find your real size. Pair them with a studded belt, or a chain hanging off the belt loop.
For tops, wear tight t-
shirts with band logos (bonus points if you got it at their concert!), cute cartoon characters(hello kitty, pikachu, etc.) or just a solid color. Cover it with a black hoodie. Mini skirts look great with brightly colored knee-high socks.
Canvas shoes are great but high-tops are awesome!
 They do not have to be black. You can replace the laces with some crazy colored laces, or draw or write on them to give them your own personal flair. Vans are also a good idea.
Accessories time!
 If you wear glasses, get some that look like they are straight out of a sock hop. Horn-rimed, with thick frames!
